A fan of the video game Bloodborne reveals a rare find they made at a local record store, which impresses other fans.

Every detail matters when it comes to creating video games that players will remember and enjoy for years to come. Even though the gameplay and visuals are crucial, a well-crafted soundtrack can elevate the game’s impact and make for an unforgettable experience.

Since the inception of the medium, game soundtracks have come a long way, and fans frequently buy or stream songs from their favourite games. Traditional vinyl records are preferred by many people, and one Bloodborne fan returned from a record store with just that.

Record shops, despite the widespread availability of digital audio formats that allow listeners to enjoy music almost immediately, are still in existence. BAPEAPE138, a Bloodborne subreddit user, discovered something amazing at their local record store and decided to share it with the community. When they discovered and purchased a Bloodborne vinyl record set for $60, their fellow gamers were both impressed and jealous. When they found it at a regular record store instead of a gaming-themed store, commenters were surprised.

It’s becoming more and more common for video game soundtracks to be released on vinyl. Bloodborne’s original soundtrack was reissued on vinyl by Laced Records in 2019 in both a standard black and a green colorway. It was originally priced at $35, but these limited-edition vinyl prints sell out quickly and are no longer available on the official website.

Bloodborne and its soundtrack remain popular despite the focus on Elden Ring among many FromSoftware fans. One commenter went so far as to say that if they could, they’d turn off the music in Elden Ring and play the Bloodborne record instead. If you’ve ever played a FromSoftware game, chances are you’ve heard a song that stands out to you, even if you don’t know what it is.

This format has previously been used by Silent Hill 2, 3, 4, and The Last of Us, all mega-hits from Sony’s PlayStation 2. The original score for Demon’s Souls was also pressed onto vinyl. Fans of Elden Ring should be prepared to take action immediately in the event that he is subjected to the same treatment in the future. However, there are a number of games that have already had a second run of vinyl soundtrack releases. Fans of Bloodborne can only hope that the game will be re-released.

The PS4 version of Bloodborne is now available.
