With thousands of LEGO bricks, one Pokemon fan has created a life-size replica of Bulbasaur, the most popular Pokemon.
The Pokemon franchise has been around for a long time, and many new Pokemon have been introduced over that time. While new and exciting Pokémon have been added to the Pokedex with each iteration, many long for the originals that were introduced in the first few games. Although it has been decades since the first generation of Pokemon was released, Gen 1 still has some of the most popular and recognizable Pokemon, such as Bulbasaur.
Bulbasaur is a Generation 1 starter, as previously stated. It is a Grass/Poison-type Pokemon that first appeared in Pokemon Red and Green. It has a blue-green coloration with dark spots all over it, which is one of its distinguishing characteristics. In addition, this Pokemon has a plant bulb on its back that is immediately recognizable. Earlier this year, a creative fan decided to bring this Generation 1 starter to life.
On the Reddit community, a user by the name of “Ddave” posted a photo gallery of a recent LEGO build they had completed. However, the Reddit user had decided to make Bulbasaur from the Pokemon series. The results of this build were astounding, as they used 10,000 LEGO bricks to construct a life-sized replica of the Pokemon. In a photograph, the creator was shown standing next to the creation, revealing its impressive dimensions. Images of LEGO Bulbasaur showed that it had many of the game’s features, such as its distinctive bulb.
Ddave has built a number of Pokemon-themed LEGO creations, including this one. The Reddit user has posted several more LEGO builds on Reddit if you’d like to check them out. Squirtle, Eevee, Charmander, and even Pikachu are some of the Pokemon that have been replicated. Each of these LEGO models has the same level of detail as the Bulbasaur design.
In the wake of Reddit posting these images of a life-sized LEGO Bulbasaur, many Pokemon fans have taken notice. As of this writing, there are over 800 upvotes on the LEGO model’s resemblance to its in-game counterpart. This is truly amazing! WindyCityCollections, a Reddit user, said he or she would definitely buy one of these. To make matters even funnier, some fans joked that creators should build Wailord, a gigantic Pokemon, as their next project in the franchise.
Despite the fact that it may be difficult to top Ddave’s work, a slew of other dedicated Pokemon fans have been hard at work over the past few weeks. Among other examples, a gamer recently shared a picture of a gold Mewtwo statue they had made. With the recent announcement of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet for later this year, more fan art based on the series seems inevitable.
