Releasing a new trailer for Pac-Man Museum+, Microsoft has confirmed that the arcade compilation will be available on Xbox Game Pass at the time of its release.
Pac-Man has become one of gaming’s most recognizable characters and one of the industry’s longest-running franchises since he first appeared in arcades. Since Pac-Man first appeared in arcades nearly four decades ago, the Pac-Man series has spawned a slew of reimagined versions of the classic game, including the recent battle royale Pac-Man 99. It’s now possible to play Bandai-most Namco’s popular arcade games in the comfort of one’s own virtual arcade thanks to Pac-Man Museum+.
It wasn’t long after the original arcade games’ enormous popularity and widespread distribution in the 1980s that Pac-Man became a global phenomenon. Bandai Namco’s mascot, Pac-Man, is the face of the Pac-Man franchise, which had a huge impact on popular culture in the 1980s. Pac-early Man’s arcade games were hugely successful, and as a result, every console generation has had a slew of ports and compilations. Bandai Namco has released a trailer for the upcoming arcade simulation game, Pac-Man Museum+, on its YouTube channel, which also confirmed the game’s release date. While collecting coins, gamers will be able to decorate their virtual arcade with arcade cabinets, collectibles, and more by playing fourteen classic Pac-Man games. In addition to Pac-Man Museum+, which the trailer confirms will launch on Xbox Game Pass on May 27th, fans of the classic arcade game won’t have to wait long to relive their childhood nostalgia.
Many customization options for arcades were shown off in the trailer as well. To unlock classic games and other arcade-themed decorations like vending machines, Pac-Man flags, and even gashapon machines for acquiring figures, players will be able to add arcade cabinets styled after the original releases of those classic games. For example, players will have the ability to change the arcade’s walling, flooring, positioning of machines as well as playing classic arcade music through a jukebox in their virtual arcade.
Despite the fact that many people associate Pac-Man with arcade games, the classic franchise has shown that it is not afraid to experiment.
