Darvin Ham, the new head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, has signed a contract.

Two people familiar with the agreement told USA TODAY Sports that the Lakers have agreed to a four-year deal with former Milwaukee Bucks assistant Darvin Ham to be their next head coach

Ham, 48, has spent the past nine seasons as a high-level assistant coach on Mike Budenholzer's staffs in Atlanta and Milwaukee

Ham has the sought cachet of being a former player, which is crucial to many of today's players, having won a title as a player with Detroit in 2004 and as an assistant with the Bucks last season.

He has also worked with celebrities, having coached Giannis Antetokounmpo for the previous four seasons.
