The new glass bridge in Vietnam has set a Guinness World Record.

Guinness World Records has named a glass-bottomed walkway in Vietnam, which debuted to considerable fanfare in April, the world's longest bridge of its kind.

The previous record for the world's largest glass-bottomed bridge was held by a construction in Guangdong, China, which was 1,726 feet in length.

The Bach Long bridge, located in the rural highlands of Son La province in northwestern Vietnam, connects travellers to a popular mountain resort

The glass bridge, suspended 492 feet above ground and extending 2,073 feet in length, was a cooperative project between local tourism officials

and a French construction business to stimulate tourism, which had been severely harmed by the global financial crisis.

It is reported to be capable of supporting up to 450 people at once. It was recently drove over by an SUV to see how strong it was.
