Thousands are expected to march in Los Angeles in support of abortion rights.

Thousands of people are scheduled to go to the streets of Los Angeles on Saturday as part of a worldwide push to defend abortion rights

as the Supreme Court looks to be on the verge of overturning the landmark Roe v. Wade ruling.

More than 50,000 people have signed up for the "Bans Off Our Bodies" demonstration outside Los Angeles City Hall at 10 a.m., according to the Women's March Foundation.

Organizers in Orange County expect 4,000-5,000 people to attend a rally at Centennial Park in Santa Ana at 10 a.m. Lt. Gov. Eleni Kounalakis and Rep. Katie Porter, D-Irvine, will speak.

Across the country, the group Rise Up 4 Abortion Rights is holding protest events, including two in Los Angeles and one in Orange County.

The Rise Up rallies will all feature a march to adjacent "Bans Off Our Bodies" events.
