Why are the benchmark scores for Android phones with the same processor so different?

Have you ever wondered why smartphones with the same processor have varying benchmark results?

They should show the same scores if they have the same chip, right? But it's a little more complicated than that.

Compare the benchmark scores of three devices to see what we mean: the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, the OnePlus 10 Pro, and the ZTE Nubia Red Magic 7.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 flagship CPU is found in all of these smartphones.

We're using AnTuTu (v9) and Geekbench (v5.1) for this comparison, and a higher score indicates superior performance in both cases.

Despite sharing the same chip, the three devices have vastly varied scores, leading some to believe they are from separate generations.
