The lack of new content in Halo Infinite has hurt the game’s popularity, but the upcoming Season 2 should help turn things around.
When Halo Infinite first came out, it was a huge hit with gamers and critics alike. Fans flocked to the free-to-play mode following an unassuming Xbox event, and many were pleasantly surprised by just how well the game managed to capture the feeling of playing the original Halo games all those years ago. Since then, 343 Industries’ apparent lack of interest in the game’s community has left fans feeling discouraged.
There was a new blog post on Halo Waypoint by 343 Industries published on March 4. According to a blog post titled “Halo Infinite Update — March 2022,” another season of Halo Infinite multiplayer is on track for a May 3 release date. Halo Infinite campaign co-op was delayed again, but this new Season appears to have some exciting new content for fans to enjoy.
This is the Lone Wolf theme from Halo Infinite Season 2
“Lone Wolves” is the title of Halo Infinite Season 2, which will reportedly feature this Spartan faction. “Fierce [and] rugged,” according to the blog post, means players can expect to see a wide range of cosmetics that fit this description. “Hunters” and “fierce [and] rugged.” If the concept art is any indication, Season 2’s armour cores are likely to have a lot of protruding blades and bullets.
343 Industries also stated that “much, but not all” of the Season’s content would feature this Lone Wolf theme, which suggests that other cosmetic items and content will be added to the Season. As an added bonus, the blog post revealed a free “Fracture” armour core as part of the non-themed content.
Season 2 of Halo Infinite will have a well-defined plot arc
According to the Battle Pass item descriptions, the second season of Halo Infinite will have its own storey that will be told through a combination of cinematic cutscenes and game events. Both Sigrid Eklund and Hieu Dinh appear prominently in the game’s promotional images. This Lone Wolf storey is said to revolve around them. Halo Infinite’s multiplayer cinematic trailer Spartan Commander Laurette Agryna will also be making an appearance in the game.
Season 2 of Halo Infinite is bringing new modes and maps to the table
Season 2 of Halo Infinite will feature a number of new maps and multiplayer game modes, which are the most exciting additions. A Big Team Battle map called “Breaker” and an Arena map called “Catalyst” has been confirmed for Season 2 so far. Aside from concept art, little else is known about the plots of Catalyst and Breaker, both of which appear to take place on Forerunner-era structures.
Halo Infinite’s second Season will include not one, but three new game modes. “Last Spartan Standing,” a new game mode, is a free-for-all variation in which players compete to be the last one standing. In addition to “Land Grab,” a new game mode is being added, but the blog post does not provide any further information. While “King of the Hill” is making a comeback, an “updated” version of the model appears to be in use. It’s up to the players to see if these new modes and maps are worth the wait on May 3.
Season 2 of Halo Infinite, titled “Lone Wolves,” will be released on May 3, 2022, for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
